This is a hefty sideboard with quite a bit of storage space. I originally drew it with five drawers in the center but the client, wanting larger storage drawers, suggested combining the four lower drawers into two large lower drawers but keeping the appearance of the four smaller drawers. This is a good example of a custom design built to order of the customer. This piece features hand-cut dovetails, a hand-shaped thumbnail detail on the top and ebonized cherry pulls. There are no shelves in the cabinets but these could be added if desired. Like many of the pieces that I photograph for the website, this one is very light in color. It will continue to darken and become a nice darker, redish brown. Click here to see photo of color comparison.
