Trestle Table with Leaves
This design is the same as my standard Trestle Table, with the upper cross member of the trestles enlarged to carry the slides that support the end leaves. A great deal of time went into making this idea work as simply and solidly as possible. The leaves attach cleanly and are supported without compromising the elegance or strength of the base.
Above is the bottom of one of the leaves. Notice the hollowed edge. This hollow mates to the convex edge at the end of the table, allowing the leaf joint to remain tight and visually seamless.
